Why? Mahima Kishore I lift my eyes and Gaze at the sky. But I see no stars way up high. Only thick black clouds. Clouds of prejudice and hate Of close mindedness and intolerance. The thick clouds, Covering up our starry sky of love. But why? All men are equal, Then why must some of us Be less equal than others? Why must our colorful world Be faded into a dull shade of gray? Why must a soldier, Be forced to take a stranger’s life? Why? Why must some people find it harder to make a living than others? Why is it that one be shunned And the other be a sire? Our love for all people Should never expire! If mankind just opened, Their eyes and see, They will eventually hear my plea. Someday, near or far, We will know, That the world will be a far better place, If we learn, To accept.
